This month we launched a brand new long-awaited Local Citation Building Service. With the overwhelming success of our Agency Dashboard platform launch in November 2015, we realised Agencies didn’t want to leave our dashboard to order services from other suppliers. We acted upon this and delivered this service first as the most wanted service from Agency feedback.
More than 1,000 SEO Agencies have now signed up for an account with FATJOE. This is more than double the agencies we worked within in less than 6 months.
This month delivered a huge SEO landscape change in the form of a new Real-Time Algorithmic update from Google dubbed ‘Penguin 4.0’. We covered this in a nice bitesize what you need to know blog post below:
This month saw a huge rise in new agency sign ups with FATJOE resulting in our production team almost doubling to 60 strong team members.

FATJOE’s copywriting team grew to 16 Full-time copywriters bringing the total number of the FATJOE team to 27.

This month we launched our very own live online client dashboard system. Agencies are now able to place, manage and track the live progress of orders right from within their dashboard.
January marked one of the biggest changes in the SEO landscape. The Google spam team were making a bigger effort to combat the many spam guest posting and blog network services. This period saw the company increase its client base by more than 25%.

FATJOE hired another new recruit (Emily Nickless) to join as a support ninja to ensure a consistent level of quality and the delivery of services on time. This brought the staff total to 14.
This saw the company’s biggest website redesign launch to date. The company decided they wanted to appeal to more of the international market they were already attracting and subsequently launched on the .co domain name of today.
FATJOE’s client base grew to more than 250 SEO Agencies during this period due to the website redesign and international focus.
This month saw a huge recruitment drive from FATJOE to cope with the increased demand for services. The writing team grew to 14 full-time copywriters, the client side account management team grew to 4 and FATJOE also took on 2 in-house Developers to design, build and create an in-house order management system with client side dashboard.
FATJOE’s famous Christmas Party took place at the Mailbox in Birmingham, UK.
A brand refresh took place including a brand new website.
FATRANK was born. The world’s fastest keyword rank checker. A free Chrome extension designed to check and return the Google ranking position of any keyword you typed into the tool.

The guys moved out of their home offices into the first ever office for FATJOE on the Park Plaza complex in the heart of Staffordshire.
The company continued to grow from strength to strength introducing a new content writing service along with the recruitment of an additional 2 copywriters, bringing the company staff total to a strong team of 6. This was at the time that the Joe’s decided to try out stand up desks.
An infographic FATJOE created from research to design went viral amongst the marketing industry. The infographic wasn’t just created for self-promotional purposes, this was the infancy of launching a brand new infographic design service. Shortly after FATJOE recruited 2 creative designers, enabling the company to offer a scalable infographic design service to clients.
New support ninja (Emily Taylor) was recruited to work from the FATJOE Headquarters to manage the day to day operations and client accounts. 2 additional recruits (Dan and Cherry) joined the team to increase the blogger outreach production and management. There were also 2 great blog posts that were written this month.

The company’s content writing team grew again recruiting an additional 2 copywriters to cope with the increase in demand from not only UK marketing agencies but also agencies in an additional 3 countries.

The story of FATJOE starts with Joe Taylor and Joe Davies – 2 SEOs from the heart of Staffordshire with more than 10 years combined experience working in-house and agency side in extremely difficult and cut throat industries, such as dating, travel and insurance.
After working together in an SEO agency for around a year, both Joe’s decided there must be a better more trusted solution for SEO and marketing agencies to outsource their content and link building. Frustrated with a market limited to offshore and low quality solutions, both Joe’s saw an opportunity: To create a company that offered higher quality outsourced services at affordable prices, specifically for marketing agencies. FATJOE was born. Where did the name come from you ask? Still to this day the name remains a mystery, but it just kinda stuck.
After a long few months of market research, trialling and testing, June 2012 saw the first website ever launched for Fat Joe, along with an all encompassing link building service designed to be effective, hands off and most of all scalable.
After working on well over 200 link building campaigns since launching, FATJOE introduced a new blogger outreach service designed to deliver magazine quality content placements on genuine websites. This new service would earn SEO’s and brands in-content, editorial links.
